About the 86466-74RF
86466-74RF is a rectifier stack with a built-in heatsink created and produced by Reliance Electric. The 86466-74RF is two towers that are connected at the bottom with a large metal bracket with a support that runs in between the two rectifier towers and connects to another metal bracket that runs across the top of the towers. On the center of each tower on the sides that face each other, there is a thyristor. The metal bracket at that connects the bottom of the towers also has a pair of large capacitors and a smaller gold colored capacitor. These are all connected to each other and both of the towers with black wires. The bracket across the top of both towers has two small circuit boards attached to it. The circuit boards part number is 0-51378-19. The bracket also houses two large Amp Trap fuses that are rated for five hundred volts and six hundred amps each. The Amp Traps have the following written on the outside of them: GOULD Shawmut Amp Trap A50P800 Type 4. The heat sink side of this device is built into the rectifier stacks and is used to cool them down as they convert AC currents to DC currents which can create a lot of heat. The heat is moved to the fins of each tower and spread out so that it can be cooled by natural air flow. With this style of cooling the rectifier stacks must be free or dirt, oils, and debris that could hinder this process and trap heat in.
