About the 86466-77S
86466-77S Rectifier Stack Heat Sink Assembly
The 86466-77S is Rectifier Heat Sink Assembly fabricated and distributed by Reliance Electric under their own company name, as well as under the names ABB and Baldor-Reliance. This component is no longer actively manufactured. It can, however, be purchased from AX Control as a reconditioned used part or as liquidated never-used surplus.
The 86466-77S is used to straighten the direction of a current using a thyristor with alternating P- and N-type materials. This unit is approximately 11 inches tall by 10 inches wide. It has two small circuit boards with a flexible underlayment mounted to its top surface. These boards (51378-34) are populated by terminal pins, resistors, diodes, and a transformer (69743-11a) in a frame. Two SCR diodes are mounted to the interior walls of the assembly, mounted to the metal carrier that holds the component together. Each side of the rectifier is populated by its own heat sink. These are supported at the bottom by a hollow base that carries multiple components inside its walls, including Dale power resistors, metal oxide varistors, and high power capacitors.
