About the 86466-7S
86466-7S Reliance Rectifier Stack
The 86466-7S is a Reliance Electric Rectifier Stack. This component was fabricated and distributed by Reliance for use within the company’s various drives. The 86466-7S was also distributed under company names Baldor-Reliance and ABB. It has since been discontinued, but can still be purchased through AX Control as a reconditioned unit or as liquidated surplus (never used) stock.
The 86466-7S is built with an oil hermetically sealed radial capacitor (cp53b1eg254k1) attached to the top of one heat sink and a small circuit board attached to the top of the other. The capacitor has a capacitance of .25 uf and a voltage of 1000 VDC. The circuit board is populated by a single transformer, resistors, diodes, and two sets of terminal pins with a retaining clip. A red/white braided wire with a female connector covers one set of these terminal pins. Two other black wires with terminal loops connect to the capacitor on the other heat sink. These wires pass through the center of the rectifier stack to components located lower in the component.
The two 86466-7S heat sink components are connected together via two bolts. In the space between these components, there is an SCR diode mounted to the interior walls.
