The 86474-1R is a rectifier stack used in a Full Wave Bridge Configuration for a Reliance Electric Armature Rectifier Assembly. An armature rectifier assembly uses three rectifier modules, which have two thyristors each, to fully control the wave bridge. The main purpose of this setup is to convert AC currents to DC currents because DC current is much easier to control. Each rectifier stack is connected to a heat sink module or a phase rectifier module. The phase rectifier module holds two thyristors, a varistor and has a gate coupling card attached to it. The thyristors are disc-shaped. These rectifier modules have the ability to be swapped because they are interchangeable.
