About the 86474-7S

The 86474-7S module is a Thyristor Assembly that was designed and manufactured by Reliance Electric. The 86474-7S module is also referred to as a Resistor Stack or a Silicon Controlled Rectifier (otherwise known as an SCR). The 86474-7S module’s main purpose is to control energy by converting that energy into a single direction current.

Please note that there is a small circuit board used in the 86474-7S Thyristor Assembly. The circuit board has the part number 0-51378-15 and can be found on AX Control’s website by following the link here. The 0-51378-15 circuit board is a small coupling card that was also designed and manufactured by Reliance Electric, the same company as the 86474-7S Thyristor Assembly.

The 86474-7S Thyristor Assembly is a large, gold-colored device. At the very top of the device, there is a connection device that has two ports, and that is labeled THY. The two ports have labels located above them that read, “R,” and “W.” Protruding out of these ports are two long cables that come together to form a helix shape. One of these cables is red, and that connects to the port that is labeled as “R,” while the other one is white, and that one connects to the port that is labeled as “W.” At the very bottom part of the 86474-7S Thyristor Assembly, there is a small label with the Reliance Electric label and the part’s serial number, 86474-7S, printed onto it.
