86475-11R Rectifier Stack

The 86475-11R is a rectifier assembly that was fabricated and distributed by Reliance Electric for use in their variable speed drive systems.  This component was also marketed under the company names of Asea Brown Boveri and Baldor-Reliance.  It is no longer available through the original manufacturer but can be purchased from AX Control as a rebuilt used product or as new-used liquidated stock.  

The 86475-11R is designed to rectify or straighten alternating current into single direction DC current.   It does this using a mirror image design of heat sinks connected across an air gap by bolts.  Within this gap, there several important module components like SCR diodes and metal oxide varistors are mounted where they can be easily wired to other components that are placed on the top of the heat sinks.  These components include a high voltage capacitor and a gate coupling circuit board (51378-12.)  This small board is responsible for gating sequence and current flow.
