About the LC1000-S-SP9
The LC1000-S/SP9 is a Current Transducer distributed by Reliance Electric. This component is used in various drives or drive auxiliary systems from the company. The LC1000-S/SP9 was sold and marketed under several different company names, including Reliance, Baldor-Reliance, and ABB.
The LC1000-S/SP9 uses the Hall effect to measure currents (DC/pulsed/AC) in a large range of frequencies and amplitudes using galvanic isolation. LEM transducers have significant advantages such as very fast response times, good linearity, excellent accuracy, and a high immunity to external interference. The LC1000-S/SP9 is made up of a primary circuit, a secondary circuit using a Hall sensor within the air gap, a secondary winding, and an electronic circuit. The LC1000-S/SP9 is rated for primary nominal r.m.s current of 1000 amps. Its supply voltage is +/- 24 V. Conversion ratio is 1:5000. This component is no longer actively manufactured. The LEM transducer is mounted to a small circuit board component (approx 4” square.) The circuit board includes resistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, and stab-on connectors.
