About the 45C975
The 45C975 is a processor module that comes from Reliance Electric for the Shark XL series. In the event that you need the 45C975 processor module, then AX Control is the place for you since we typically have this product in stock, along with the rest of the Shark XL inventory. The availability of the 45C975 processor module is shown on our website for the convenience of our customers.
The 45C975 processor module uses EEPROM memory, with 926 (1K) words. EEPROM memory can be erased using electrical signals. This is different from EPROM memory, which is only erased using UV light. This device is a required product if you are using the 45C900 and 45C901 CPU modules, which do not come with their own memory installed onto them. If you need to purchase either of these CPU modules, you can click on either of these links to find them on our website.
The faceplate of the 45C975 processor module has three LED indicators (PWR, RUN, and ERR), an RS-232 port for connection to an IBM personal computer, a 16-pin connector for a handheld programmer unit, and a communication port selector switch. The PGM position of the selector is used to switch the handheld programmer, which is connected via the 16-pin connector, as the 45C975 processor module’s programming device. The COM1 position, on the other hand, turns on the RS-232 port by using the same protocol as the handheld programmers. Finally, the COM2 position activates the RS-232 port by using the enhanced mode 2 protocol.
When you look on the side of the 45C975 processor module, you will find a few more different electrical components. At the top, there is the EEPROM memory. Just below that, there is the slide-in connector. To the left of that, there are the two command mode switches.
