Reliance Electric manufactures S20-401P3A1000, an SP200 AC drive with a 3-phase 380-480V input and a 3-phase 460V output. This Single Channel Analog drive is rated 0.5 HP. The rated input current is 1.5 amperes, the rated output current is 1.3 amperes, and the fuse rating is 3 or 4 amperes. The circuit breaker rating is 3 amperes, and the typical power loss is 25 watts.
Concerning the control terminal, the terminal block is isolated from the input power. Shield the control wires and route them separately from the power wire. Acceptable wire sizes are 0.14 mm2 (26 AWG) to 1.5mm2 (16 AWG), and the maximum control wire length is 20 meters (100 ft). Concerning the power terminal, 4mm2 (12 AWG) is the acceptable wire size. The recommended tightening torque is Nm (12 in-lb).
Limit the cable distance between the drive and the motor so that peak voltages created by long drive-to-motor cables do not damage the motor. A drive fault is also a possible occurrence with a long drive-to-motor cable, due to production of current that is capacitively coupled to ground. Consider both of these limitations when installing the drive and motor. In dry conditions, PVC and XLPE insulation may be used. In wet conditions, only XLPE insulation may be used. Wire with above average insulation thickness must be chosen, because pulling wire through a 90° bend in the conduit removes some of the wire’s insulation.
