About the 0-56913-50
The 0-56913-50 is a Reliance SP500 Power board (PCB) from Rockwell Automation. SP500 drives feature NEMA 1 and NEMA 4/12 enclosures. They meet NEC/CEC requirements for electronic overload and have quiet motor operation. These motors feature forward/reverse with start/stop/reset control and drive diagnostics.
The 0-56913-50 board will mount within the system above the IGBT module at the base of the drive. The IGBT inverter bridge is used to convert constant DC voltage into an AC PWM waveform. The SP500 drive is an AC pulse-width-modulated inverter that operates on single- or three- phase power, so this board is necessary between the input to the drive.
The 0-56913-50 is built with a ten-port terminal block barrier strip. This block has ten screws for the quick connection of various electrical components. The board has two female vertical pin connectors located along the top edge and one male vertical pin connector located near the center of the board. The board has two transformers of different sizes. The larger of these components is marked 417102 32A MEC-RC. It has a single red LED that is located along the right edge.
The 0-56913-50 utilizes three metal oxide varistors. Under normal operating conditions varistors have a very high resistance. However, when the voltage across the varistor exceeds its value (as a surge, for example) its effective resistance decreases with increasing voltage. The board also uses various metal film resistors, as well as diodes and electrolytic capacitors, which tend to be grouped in lines on the board.
