About the 1SU54007
1SU54007 is manufactured by Reliance Electric as an SP500 series drive controller. Starting the controller requires first checking the installation. Ensure that input disconnect, if installed, is in the OFF position. The D-C bus volts must be at zero, and the controller interlocks installed around the driven machine must be operational. The user-installed stop pushbutton must be operational and should shut down the controller. The factory-installed jumper should not be connected to terminals 10 and 11 for the stop pushbutton to work. Remove this jumper. Using dry, low pressure air, remove debris from the controller. There must be adequate clearance around the controller. Verify that the wiring to the regulator terminal strip and power terminals is correct, and that the terminals are tightened properly to the appropriate torque specifications. User-supplied branch circuit protection must be installed and rated correctly.
The incoming A-C power must be rated correctly. Check the length of the motor leads and the motor installation. Disconnect any power correction capacitors connected to the motor. In order to initially start the controller, the user must uncouple the motor from any driven machinery. Any motor thermal switch or overload device must be wired correctly to the controller. If a transformer is used, check that the rating matches the controller requirements and is connected for the proper voltage. Verify that a properly sized ground wire is installed and that a suitable earth ground is used. Check for and eliminate any grounds between the motor frame and the motor power leads. All ground leads must be run unbroken from the motor.
