Reliance Electric manufactures 2DB4020, a Dynamic Braking kit that is designed to operate with 1SU4xxx controllers. The rated horsepower for this SP500 drive series addition is 20 HP. The Dynamic Braking Kit allows for quick, safe motor stops in the SP500 drives. This feature is accomplished with rapid mechanical deceleration of the motor and is ideal for many applications, such as those that require frequent motor stops or continual stopping and starting of the drive. Without this kit, the drive will coast to a stop upon stopping the drive. The Dynamic Braking Kit is UL/CSA safety rated for consumer protection.
