The 615159-1R module is a replacement fan assembly for a SP500 drive. The SP500 drives, as well as the 615159-1R fan assembly, were designed and manufactured by Reliance Electric.

The SP500 drives are user-friendly AC PWM inverters and controllers that are in compact NEMA 1 and 4x/12 controllers. The SP500 drives use microprocessing concepts and IGBT transistors to guarantee “trip free” adjustable speed performance for the applicable AC induction and synchronous motors. The SP500 drives have an enclosure that is corrosive resistant, dust-tight, and water-tight. This guarantees that the SP500 drives are perfect for harsh environments.

The SP500 drives have many convenient features for the user. The SP500 drives’ motors are very quiet, with operation selectable between a 4, a 6, or an 8 kHz carrier frequency. The SP500 drives are rated for 208-230 VAC, 380-460 VAC, and 575 VAC three-phase input (+/-10%), as well as 115 VAC and 208-230 VAC single-phase input. The controllers have their own fault displays, which will display the following faults should they arise: Over-current (which refers to either a short circuit or a ground fault), over-voltage, under-voltage, controller high temperature, external function loss, and electronic thermal overload. The SP500 drives have internal terminal boards that are capable of performing the following functions: Remote Start/Stop IET reset operation, Remote Forward/Reverse selection, External speed control via user supplied means (5K ohm speed potentiometer, 0-20 milliamp reference, and 0-10 VDC reference). There are LED indicator lights which illuminate to indicate the following: Reverse, Forward, Run, Remote Control, Motor RPM, Output Voltage, and % Load.

The 615159-1R fan assembly weighs only about 0.05 lbs. or 0.023 kg., making it a very lightweight package.
