About the RIPS-2

This device is one of the many Reliance Electric Ltd products available from our inventory of industrial hardware. AX Control Inc. is able to provide several units in stock of both unused surplus and reconditioned, pre-owned industrial units. This unit is listed as the RIPS-2, a VZ3000 series direct current power module.
The RIPS-2 power module is outfitted with several base functionalities. It was designed as a VZ3000 unit to be able to modify and create set values for system parameters. It is also able to save and load set values from its non-volatile memory.
This power module is rendered operational with a power intake of a nominal 5 volts, at a rate of plus or minus 5%. The maximum amount of intake it is able to handle is 100 milliamperes of energy.
The RIPS-2 module is outfitted with an LCD (liquid crystal display) set up, which provides information on the unit’s status and diagnostics to the on-site operators. The text is supplied in 4 lines, each line at 20 characters each, measured at 5 by 7 dots.
The communication capabilities of the RIPS-2 unit include a standard RS-232C connection terminal. The model also has the standard Modbus communication protocols installed into it, so a connection with a Modbus attachment is possible.
The ambient temperature conditions that the RIPS-2 power module is outfitted with give it an operational temperature range of 0 to 50 degrees C, or 32 to 122 degrees F. When the unit is non-operational in storage, or while being transported, then the range increases from -10 to 60 degrees C, or 14 to 140 degrees F.
