About the UBZ-3455
The UBZ-3455 is a VZ3000 series Bus Unit that was created by Reliance Electric.
The UBZ-3455 is a replacement unit that is class 400 V, 3-phase, and 55 kW. It has an input capacity of 206 amps, 50/60 Hz, and 460-700 VDC with an output capacity of 0-460 VAC, 0-120 Hz, and 210 amps.
The UBZ-3455 is in a chassis that has two small display lamps that have been labeled Power and Fuse. On top of the element are two main circuit terminals that have been labeled N and P. This unit should be mounted inside of a control cabinet. It should be located just above the IGBT unit UGZ3455 (sold separately) and connected to it using copper bars. It is not recommended for the Bus and IGBT units to be mounted separately. A duct should be installed just above the bus unit to help expel the warm air to just outside of the cabinet system. Doing this will help keep the temperature around the hardware in the cabinet within normal limits. The cabinet should be installed in an inside location that is free of dangerous gas, dripping water, dust, metal powder, direct sunlight, and vibrations.
The UBZ-3455 has air vents on its top and sides. It also has an open bottom that connects to the top of the IGBT. Before it is installed, two power modules, wiring, and a PCB can be seen on the bottom of the unit. There isn’t a fan assembly on this unit because it relies on the fan system attached to the IGBT unit.
