About the UBZ3455
The UBZ3455 is a Reliance Electric VZ3000 Bus Unit.
The UBZ3455 is rated for class 400 V and has a 460-700 VDC, 206 amp, and single-phase input. It also has a 3-phase, 0-120 Hz, 0-460 VDC, and 210 amp output. This Bus is a replacement unit within a larger drive set up.
The UBZ3455 is protected in a chassis-type enclosure and is typically installed into a control cabinet with the other drive hardware. It is mounted just above an IGBT unit (UGZ3455) and just below a duct unit. The Bus unit connects to the IGBT unit using copper bars. It is not advisable for these two units to be installed and operated separately. The duct unit above the Bus unit is an important feature because they allow the warm air in the cabinet to be expelled outside of the cabinet, helping to keep the temperature required for the hardware to be within the specified parameters. This cabinet should be in an indoor environment that is not around high temperature, vibrations, direct sunlight, dripping water, metal powders, dust, and combustible and corrosive gas.
On top of the UBZ3455 are two main circuit terminals. There are two additional terminals on the bottom of the unit that connects to the terminal circuit terminals on the IGBT unit. There are two display lamps on the front cover of this unit that are labeled Fuse and Power. There isn’t a fan assembly system installed on this unit because there is one attached to the bottom of the IGBT unit. On the bottom of this unit are two power modules, a PCB, and wiring that’s also visible when it is not attached to the IGBT unit.
