About the 3020-CM-100
The 3020-CM-100 is a PowerLogic circuit monitor manufactured by Square D (Schneider Electric.) The 3020-CM-100 has extensive circuit instrumentation and is equipped with RS-485 data communications for quick and easy connection to a personal computer.
The back panel of the 3020-CM-100 has all connections marked and labeled. Connections include the following:
-
Terminals 1-6 (Ia-, Ia+ Ib-,Ib+, Ic-,Ic+) Inputs from Current Transformers
-
Terminal 7 (Vn) Potential Transformer Neutral
-
Terminal 8-10 (Va, Vb,Vc) Inputs from potential transformers
-
Terminals 20-21 (In+, In-) RS-485 Input for External Communication
-
Terminals 22-23 (Out+, Out-) RS-485 Output for External Communication
-
Terminal 24 Shield Communications Shield
-
Terminal 34-35 (L,N) 120 VAC Control Power Input Terminals
The 3020-CM-100 is usually mounted semi-flush, projecting through a panel or breaker cell door. In situations where space is limited or several 3020-CM-100 units are required, the module may be mounted using other methods. A typical connection is made by the use of eight machine screws or a trim ring.
Up to sixteen 3020-CM-100 devices may be daisy-chained to a single RS-485 communications port. It is important to note each 3020-CM-100 module must be assigned a unique IP address before connecting to allow proper communication within the system. The IP address may be accessed and changed by the manipulation of two rotary switches located behind a panel on the back of the unit. Access the switches by loosening two screws and sliding the panel toward the top of the module. It is also important to note each 3020-CM-100 must be set to the same baud rate in order to communicate properly with each other.
The 3020-CM-100 can be set to 19.2k, 9600, 4800, 2400, or 1200 baud.
