About the 3020ECM2000
The 3020ECM2000 is a PowerLogic Ethernet Communications Module manufactured by Square D (Schneider Electric.) The 3020ECM2000 is compatible with other Powerlogic components. This module allows the user to use existing Ethernet infrastructure for power monitoring and quality, which allows almost unlimited flexibility on any size network. The 3020ECM2000 creates protocol conversions between standard Ethernet network protocols (TCP/IP) and MODBUS and PowerLogic-compatible devices, including circuit monitors and SEPAM Medium voltage relays.
The 3020ECM2000 is part of a total PowerLogic communications system that allows for cost-effective and tough 'field-bus.' The field bus uses RS-485 wiring that has been an industry standard and widely used in control applications for many years. This protocol can be either PowerLogic or MODBUS and can handle large amounts of data.
Features of the 3020ECM2000 are:
-
10 Mbps Ethernet speed
-
10 BaseT UTP Ethernet cabling
-
RJ-45 Ethernet connector
-
MODBUS/TCP protocol
-
One RS-485 serial port
-
Screw Terminals on the RS-485 connector
-
4-wire only direct connection
-
UL Listed
-
CSA compliant
Power for the 3020ECM2000 is supplied by connection to a Series 2000 Circuit monitor. It is important to note a unique IP address must be assigned to the 3020ECM2000 during installation. Please note the 3020ECM2000 does not support Micrologic Electronic trip units.
The 3020ECM2000 has five lights on its front panel: Serial Tx, Serial Rx, E-Net Act, Error, and Link Ok. This equipment complies with the requirements in part 15 of the FCC rules for Class A computing devices. If the 3020ECM2000 is operated in a residential area it may cause unacceptable interference to radio and TV reception.
