About the CM-2150
The CM-2150 is a PowerLogic Circuit Monitor in the 3020 series, from Square D/Schneider Electric. The CM-2150 is a data acquisition device with digital instrumentation that can replace a variety of components, including meters, relays, and transducers. It is manufactured with RS-485 communications for easy integration into most power monitoring or control systems.
The CM-2150 is capable of very accurate measurement of non-linear loads. Sophisticated sampling techniques allow for true RMS measurement through the 31st harmonic. Some of the circuit monitors features include:
-
Standard RS-232 optical communications port (front panel)
-
Modular analog and digital I/O. Field installable.
-
On-board event data logging
-
Extended memory available
-
Alarm and Relay functions
-
0.2% accuracy
-
Date/Time for each Min/Max
-
Full instrumentation
This unit is able to take a variety of real-time and communications-only readings. Real-time readings include current, voltage, real/reactive/apparent power, power factor, frequency, temperature, THD, and K-factor. Examples of readings through the communications port include coincident readings, predicated demands, bidirectional readings, and power analysis values.
The CM-2150 is able to recognize over 100 alarm conditions, including status input changes, over/under conditions, and phase unbalance conditions. The CM-2150 will keep track of the total number of each occurrence of these alarm conditions. It is worth noting some of these alarm conditions will require the end-user to define a pickup setpoint, a delay (in seconds,) a dropout setpoint, and a dropout delay (in seconds.) Application software will help the end-user set up any alarm conditions that are setpoint-driven.
