About the E16-4
The E16-4 is a PowerLogic Enhanced Enercept Meter manufactured by Square D/Schneider Electric. The E16-4 is designed for cost-effective installation due to there being no need for external PTs since the meter is inside the CT. There is no need for a separate meter enclosure. The E16-4 is compatible with other PowerLogic modules and software. An optional Enercept Display Interface (EDI) can stand in as a network adapter to allow the E16-4 to be added to a 4-wire network. The EDI also works as an operator interface and can support up to 32 meters (63 with a repeater.)
The E16-4 is a split-core, open type enercept meter rated to 1600 Amp. 2.45" x 5.50" CT Window I.D, 50/60 Hz. The E16-4 has a working range of 0 to +60 degrees Celsius and 0-95% humidity, non-condensing.
The E16-4 has seven parts:

Neutral lead

Voltage leads with an input range of 208-480 V line-to-line

Mandatory Fuse (per NEC) --These fuses are rated 1/2 Amp 200 KAIC. The original manufacturer suggests replacement only with fuses of the same type and rating.

External CTs-- These cannot be disconnected or used with any other meters.

Modbus RS-485-- For connection to Modbus network

Address Selection Switches--Every Modbus device must be given a unique address before being connected.

Status LED-- LED light will blink green if the CT is in normal function mode. LED light will blink red (slowly) if a power factor such as incorrect wiring is affecting the unit. LED light will blink red (quickly) if the CT's maximum current rate has been exceeded.
Please note that during installation voltage leads and CTs must be color-matched.
