About the IOM-18
The PowerLogic IOM-18 I/O (Input/Output) module by Square D (Schneider Electric) has 8 status inputs and 1 KYZ pulse output. The solid-state KYZ output has a max rating of 96mA. The KYZ output is a Form-C contact. Time and date stamps on the IOM-18 are accurate to within one second. The I/Os (inputs/outputs) on this module are able to keep a counter of the total transitions for each individual status input. These can be logged as events in the IOM-18's onboard event log.
It is worth noting the IOM-18 is able to capture short-duration events such as voltage sags using its high-speed S2 input. This capability is only possible once the module is equipped for this optional functionality.
The IOM-18 can be wired either as part of a two-wire or as part of a three-wire pulse initiator application. In a two-wire system, the IOM-18 will deliver up to five pulses per second. As part of a three-wire system, the IOM-18 will deliver up to ten pulses per second.
The IOM-18 also includes a high-speed S2 status input which, when tied to an external relay, can be used with a PowerLogic circuit monitor's 12-cycle event capture feature. Using this feature the user can specify from 2 to 10 pre-event cycles. This allows for extended capture from 2 pre-event and 10 to 58 post-event cycles, to 10 pre-event and from 2 to 50 post-event cycles.
The IOM-18 mounts with four screws located at the top and bottom corners of the module.
