About the PM-650
The PM-650 is a PowerLogic Power Meter by Square D/Schneider Electric designed for basic industrial monitoring. The PM-650 applications include equipment such as Low Voltage Drawout (LVDO) feeders, switchboards, and panelboards.
Some of the PM-650 features include:
-
Wide operating temp range (0 to +60 degrees Celsius)
-
Onboard clock and calendar
-
True RMS metering to the 31st Harmonic
-
Can accept standard PT and CT inputs
-
Can fit standard 1% Ammeter and Voltmeter mounting holes
-
Quality Power readings-THD (voltage and current)
-
Easy setup through a remote display (password protected)
-
Allows for 3-Phase, 4-Wire Wye system connections
-
Allows for 3-Phase, 3-wire Delta system connections (metered or calculated B Phase)
The PM-650 comes with standard instrumentation, an RS-485 Communications port, wiring diagnostics, time and date stamping, onboard alarms, data and event logging, rolling block demand, and demand interval synch to comms. Some features must be set up using PowerLogic application software.
The PM-650 is equipped with a solid-state KYZ Form-C output. If the end-user desires, this can be wired as an alarm contact with a 14 to 18 AWG wire. The wire must be inserted into the KYZ output terminal block, then the terminal block screws must be tightened to 5-7 lb-in (0.56-0.79 N.m).
When mounting the PM-650 make sure to allow for easy access to the meter connection ends where the terminals are located. Allow for extra space for wires, shorting blocks, and other components. Finally, be sure the ambient conditions fall within an operating temperature of 0 to +60 degrees Celsius, and relative humidity of 5-95%, non-condensing. Always refer to state and local electrical safety standards before mounting the PM-650.
