About the PMD-32
The PowerLogic PMD-32 is a Power Meter display from SquareD/Schneider Electric. This is an add-on (optional) display for 3020 series PowerLogic power meters. When daisy-chained together, these modules create a power monitoring and control system that is capable of replacing a wide variety of basic analog meters. The PMD-32 is also used as a power meter programmer. Adding a PMD-32 to an existing power meter allows for maximal ease of use, and has the following operating modes:
-
Setup (for setting up the power meter)
-
Summary (displays often-viewed values)
-
Diagnostics (for read-only registers and troubleshooting)
-
Resets (to perform resets of peak demands, accumulated energy, and min/max)
-
Min/Max values
-
Alarm Setup
-
Alarm Log (displays onboard alarms)
-
Power Quality values
-
Demand values
-
Power values
Each mode allows for configuration of a variety of parameters. For example, the "Setup" mode on the PMD-32 allows configuration of protocol, device address, baud rate, parity (even or none) and CT and PT primary and secondary. It also allows for configuration of Voltage range, system type, frequency, power demand interval, KYZ mode, pulse constant, date, time, and master password.
The front panel of the PMD-32 is designed with a five-button front panel which allows for scrolling between modes, increasing or decreasing displayed parameters, entering desired choices, and adjusting the contrast of the 2-line LCD display.
The PMD-32 is connected to a PowerLogic power meter by a one foot (0.3. meter) cable. This cable provides both communications and power. The PMD-32 provides LV and MV applications accurate to a 0.25% deviation.
