About the 8005-DMU-1
The 8005-DMU-1 is a Dummy I/O Module created by Square-D. This module is now unsupported by Schneider Electric and may be a little hard to find. AX Control does try to keep it in stock though.
The 8005-DMU-1 is a 10-pin dummy module for the SY/MAX Model 50 Class 8005 Series A-1 Processor Modules. This module’s purpose is to fill a slot on a processor unit in the place of an I/O module when one is not available or needed. It goes directly onto the base.
The 8005-DMU-1 is made to look exactly like a typical I/O module. It is a square box. On its faceplate are air vents and a terminal strip with 10 I/O connections that have a see-through plastic covering over them. This module is slid into the base on the right side of the processor module and takes up one of its I/O slots. There are two holes on each side where the user can use two screws to attach the dummy to the processor. There is a label that very clearly identifies this module as a Dummy.
The Model 50 series of processors with an 8005-DMU-1 attached, should be mounted to a panel or a wall. It is not meant for outside applications. It is not in a drip/dust-tight enclosure so it should be kept in a dry, clean area that is not around corrosive materials.
