About the 8005-EBU-1

The 8005-EBU-1 is a PLC CPU Expansion made by Square-D. This module was made in the SY/MAX series of processor modules.

The 8005-EBU-1 is a Series A-1 Class 8005 Expansion Base Unit. This module is meant to be used as an expansion base for mounting additional input and output modules when installation space is limited. Up to two additional I/O modules can be placed on this expansion base. There is an expansion cable needed to connect the expansion base to the processor unit or one base to another.  

When installing I/O to the expansion base and onto the processor module, it is recommended that the input modules be mounted onto the upper half and the output modules be installed onto the lower half of the setup to help keep input wiring separated for output wiring. The total distance for I/O expansion modules and expansion cables should not exceed 5 meters. This module should be installed onto a panel or wall mounting. The mounting screw for this module should be lower than 4mm or else I/O modules cannot be installed.  When connecting the expansion cables from the expansion base to the processor module, make sure to bend the cable down slightly towards the base instead of up. I/O modules can be plugged into the expansion based and then secured using two I/O module locking screws.

If the I/O set up needs additional power the 8005-EBU-1 can use an expansion cable to connect to an expansion power supply unit. This connection can be made using a CB-40 or CB-60 cable.  To help with the I/O installation, this module comes with diagrams directly on the base.
