About the 8020-SCP-121
The 8020-SCP-121 module, a device that is part of the SY/MAX series, was created and manufactured by the company Square D. The 8020-SCP-121 module is classified as a Model 100, 40 I/O PC with RAM. Contrast this with the 8020-SCP-122, which has UVPROM rather than RAM. The 8020-SCP-121 was announced as obsolete in August of 1989. Although the original manufacturer does not support this product or offer it in their stock new, AX Control may have the product in stock in either refurbished or brand new (from surplus stock) condition today.
The 8020-SCP-121 module is a large, rectangular device. The faceplate is white while the sides, top, and bottom are black. The 8020-SCP-121 module’s forty I/O ports are located along the right side of the device’s faceplate. These I/O devices are labeled for the user’s convenience. Shifting focus to the middle of the faceplate, there is a small fuse at the very top. The fuse is labeled as “FUSE RATING 3 AMP 250 V TYPE ABC.” Below the fuse is a small slot for a key which has three labeled positions: “RUN,” “HALT,” and “DISABLE OUTPUTS.” Below that, there are five indicator lights which run from top to bottom as follows: “RUN,” “HALT,” “MEMORY,” “FORCE,” “BATTERY LOW.” These lights illuminate to indicate any of the previously listed statuses. The very bottom of the device has a small port that is labelled as “PROGRAMMER.”
The 8020-SCP-121 module weighs approximately 10.30 lbs. or 4.67 kg. This is not including any of AX Control’s packaging materials, which can withstand the bumps and falls that can occur while shipping.
