The Class 8030 Type CRM-115 Bus Expander/Driver Interface Module is used to expand a Model 300 Programmable Controller System from 1 to 2 I/O rack assemblies increasing the I/O capacity of the system to the maximum of 128. Both the Type CRM-115 and Type CRM-116 modules are required to complete the I/O rack assembly expansion.

Route the ribbon cable away from AC power wires, AC and DC signal wires, and Sy/Max power supply cables to minimize electrical noise interference.

The rated current draw on the Class 8030 Type CRM-115 Bus Expander/Driver Interface Module is 300mA.

The CRM-115 Bus Expander/Driver Interface Module can only connect two four-function digital I/O racks.  

The Type CRM-115 connects to the CRM-116 Bus Expander/Terminator Interface Module. The ribbon cable used to connect the two modules is permanently attached to the CRM-116 Bus Expander/Terminator Interface Module. No additional cable is required.

It is important to note that the cable connectors are mechanically keyed to prevent incorrect insertion. This polarity must be observed. Do not attempt to force a connection.

Also, power must be removed before connecting and disconnecting the cable.

Make sure that cable connections are fully seated and that the socket retainer clamps are fully engaged and that they secure the connector.
