To expand a Model 300 Programmable Controller System from 1 to 2 I/O rack assemblies, you need the  Class 8030 Type CRM-116 Bus Expander/Terminator Interface Module. The Type CRM-116 is one of two devices you need to increase the I/O capacity of the system to the maximum of 128 connectors.

You need both the Type CRM-115 and Type CRM-116 modules to complete the I/O rack assembly expansion.

The Type CRM-115 Module connects to the Type CRM-116 Module. The ribbon cable that connects the two modules is permanently installed in the Type CRM-116 Module. No additional cable is required.

To minimize electrical interference, route the ribbon cable away from AC power wires, AC and DC signal wires, and Sy/Max power supply cables.

100mA is the rated current draw on the Class 8030 Type CRM-116 Bus Expander/Terminator Interface Module.

The cable connectors are mechanically keyed to prevent incorrect insertion. This polarity must be observed to avoid damage to components. Do not attempt to force a connection.

Remove all power before connecting and disconnecting the cable.

To ensure reliability, fully seat all cable connections and make sure that the socket retainer clamps are fully engaged.
