The 8030-CRM-222 module provides a method for the user a method to remotely locate both digital and register I/O racks from a SY/MAX module 300, 400, 500, or 700 Processor and to communicate in a serial fashion. In order to establish a remote I/O system, a Local Interface module is mounted in the rack containing the SY/MAX Processor. Then, the 8030-CRM-222 module is mounted in the remote digital or register rack, which is referred to as a drop. The power supply for the 8030-CRM-222 module is 1000 mA and it is UL listed. All SY/MAX Class 8030 Remote Interface Modules have two channels for every local interface (with eight channels per channel at maximum) and 255 registers for digital I/O per module. Every SY/MAX Class 8030 Remote Interface Modules have 127 registers per drop max and daisy chain drop configuration.
There are five indicator lights at the top of the front side of the 8030-CRM-222 module: RUN, HALT, CHANNEL ERROR, I/O ERROR, and MODULE ERROR. When the RUN indicator light is on, that indicates that the remote drop is operational. When the HALT indicator light is on, that indicates that the remote interface is shut down. When the CHANNEL ERROR indicator light is on, that indicates that there is an invalid or loss of communications between the remote interface and its local interface. When the I/O ERROR indicator light is on, there is either a reader after error to an output, an error caused by a malfunctioning register module, or a remote interface malfunction. When the MODULE ERROR indicator light is on, that indicates that there is a self-diagnostic error or internal timeout error occurring in the 8030-CRM-222 module.
