Schneider Electric's Remote Interface I/O Module is a product made by the Square D division. The module was created to be part of the SY/MAX 8030 class of products. This module allows for a programmable logic controller to read and write the I/O signals. To keep the module safe, the user must keep the ambient temperature between 0 and 60 degrees Celsius. The module has the dimensions 2.6 x 8.3 x 1.4 with a weight of .67 pounds. The module is directly mountable onto the TBX Distributed I/O Base Unit and supports TBX CBS010 Expansion Interface. There are a lot of protection and safety features that help the module function. The module comes with I/O power loss indication which reports to the PLC controller if input and/or output power supply is lost. Wiring fault detection alerts the user when there are open circuits detected or the there is a short in the wires. Some of the module's other features are the output fallback state, input phase latching, selectable I/O points and input filtering.

The Remote Interface I/O Module 1024 registers that can connect to a larger system. The module uses 128 registers per individual slots on the module. The voltage range of the system is 24 VDC. The transmission rate of the module bounces between 62.5 KB and 1 MB per second. There are 8 DIP switches that help control the module's functions. 5 of the switches are drop switches, while the other 3 change the bit rate.
