About the 8030-CRM-565
Square D PowerLogic Circuit Monitors are enabled to communicate with Sy/Max devices through the Class 8030 Type CRM 565 PowerLogic Network Interface Module (PNIM). Using PNIMs, the means of transmission between circuit monitors and Sy/Max devices can be a twisted pair cable.
The PNIM provides a communications interface between one active Sy/Max processor, a software package such as ScreenWare2, or a Sy/Max network of devices, with up to 16 networked circuit monitors on PNIM Port 0. Data exchange is accomplished by reading from and writing to registers in the circuit monitors.
PowerLogic Network operation is transparent, allowing reading and writing of circuit monitor register data and input and output status.
The PNIM is useful for any monitoring or control application where PowerLogic Circuit Monitors are integrated with Sy/Max programmable controllers. For example, the PNIM is applicable for data gathering and control in energy management, power factor correction, and planning system loads environments.
The RNIM consists of a module that mounts in a register slot in a Sy/Max I/O rack and draws power from the rack. The front of the device has eight LEDs, two switches, and two communication ports (COMM ports).
Install signal line protection devices to enhance reliability where electrical interference might cause hardware failures or degrade reliability.
Do not remove the device from the rack while power is On. First, turn the power supply switch to Off and wait until all indicator lights are Off. This prevents damage to components.
