About the 8030-CRM-720
The Square D SY/MAX 8030-CRM-720 is a speech module capable of communicating verbal, rather than visual, messages. Verbal speech is communicated through simple numerical codes stored within the module. Housing a vocabulary of 592 words, suffixes, and tones, this module can verbally communicate for any device that generates ASC II code, such as a SY/MAX processor, data controller, or computer. The user can determine how the module communicates, such as how many times to announce a message or how long a delay between messages should be. A comprehensive index of the speech command codes are in the instruction bulletin.
Functioning as an annunciating communicator, 8030-CRM-720 features audio output ports on its front panel. The output methods include a headphone output, speaker output, or a line output to an amplifier. The audio out functionality is usable to communicate alarms, directions, or other information. Given the variety of supported output methods, it can communicate to a single user, a control room, or an entire PA system. The front of the speech module includes two diagnostic LEDs to communicate power and voice functionality. A TEST push button is featured on the front of the device, as well as a headphone and speaker volume control knob. A COMM port is next on the panel, acting as the direct input for the ASC II code. A LAN port completes the panel, allowing for code to transfer to the device over the network rather than being directly inputted. A standard module, 8030-CRM-720 measures 13.0in (H) x 6.6in (D) x 1.5in (W) and weighs 2.75 pounds.
Proper storage and installation of the module is necessary for optimal device performance. When installed in the register slot on the rack, ambient temperatures must be regulated to ensure the module does not degrade. Operational temperatures should fall no lower than 0℃, or 32℉, and no higher than 60℃, or 140℉. All installation and usage guidelines can be found in the corresponding instruction bulletin.
