About the 8030-EQ5-138-G1
The Square D SY/MAX 8030-EQ5-138-G1 is a parallel digital driver interface module. This driver works in conjunction with a parallel receiver, part 8030-EQ5-138-G2, to allow for CPU I/O configuration. When inserted into a CPU rack, the driver connects to a receiver mounted on an adjacent I/O rack, allowing for quick I/O data transfers to the CPU’s processor. Multiple PDD modules can be supported by a single processor in a CPU rack. With each PDD capable of inputting data from two PDR modules, this system offers quick processing speeds and no updating periods. SY/MAX processors are capable of running both PDD/PDR and local/remote I/O systems, giving the user simultaneous access to all I/O data.
A blank area found at the top of 8030-EQ5-138-G1 allows for the device’s user to make identifying markings on it. Directly below, two channel ports, labeled Channel 1 and Channel 2, are prominently featured on the front plate of the drive. Each port has an address marking area for easy user identification. A detachable 50 conductor cable is used to connect the channels on the PDD to the channel on the receiving PDR. These separately sold cables can be purchased in either a five or seven foot length. Conforming to SY/MAX module standards, the driver weighs 2.4 pounds and measures 1.5in (W) x 12.8in (H) x 6.6in (D).
Following proper storage and usage guidelines is critical in maintaining the drive. When operating in a facility, the ambient temperature should fall no lower than 32℉, or 0℃, and raise no higher than 140℉, or 60℃. Should the module be put in storage, temperatures can range from -40℉ to 176℉, or -40℃ to 80℃. Refer to the product manual and datasheet for proper installation and configuration standards.
