About the 8030-EQ5138-G2
The 8030-EQ5138-G2 is a digital interface module for the 8030 Sy/Max system. It is one of two available parallel modules used to allow communication from non-remote racks to a processor rack using digital communication to foster faster I/O updates. This unit works in conjunction with the other of these modules, which is the Parallel Digital Driver (Eq-5138-G1.)
The 8030-EQ5138-G2 typically mounts within each of two digital racks and is connected to driver modules using a ribbon cable. The driver is mounted with the Sy/Max processor in a register slot. These units also work in conjunction with other Sy/Max products like rack systems and power supplies.
The Sy/Max 8030 system is designed with a number of different modules to allow users the flexibility to create a system that will work for their specific needs rather than a static out-of-the-box system that cannot be configured.
