About the 8030-HIM-131

The 8030-HIM-131 is a Sy/Max Class 8030 Type HIM-131 Input module.  This module is an 8-function module rated at 12-24 VAC.  

The 8030-HIM-131 has eight individual optically isolated inputs.  Each of these inputs is capable of receiving inputs from devices like selector switches, logic circuits, pushbuttons, or limit switches.    Each input is wired to a red LED indicator located on the front of the unit that will allow the user to know when that input is receiving an on signal from the associated input device. 

This unit has a terminal block on its front surface that allows for wiring to external components.  This terminal block is removable.  This allows the module to be replaced without the need to rewire the terminals.    The 1A terminal on this unit acts as the common for the first four terminals while the 2A terminal acts as the common terminal for the second four terminals.   A surge protector is required only when an inductive load is applied in parallel with the controller input.   Wiring terminals are covered by a hinged plastic flap to provide protection to the user.  Each wiring terminal is designed to accept up to two wires (14 AWG.)
