About the 8030-RIM-125
The 8030-RIM-125 is a sixteen-point analog input module from Symax. This analog module can fit into any slot in the register rack except slot number one. Each module has sixteen registers in the system (one register per channel), in which the voltage or analog current being measured is then converted to a value ranging from 0 to 9998 in increments of 1. The front panel of the module has two terminal strips. Each of the terminal strips contains eight groups of two terminals with two additional terminals at the bottom. Each group corresponds to one input signal or channel. One terminal is there for the positive wire of the signal source, one terminal is for the negative and the shield wire. There is a green LED labeled RUN LED. This light is an indicator of whether the module is functioning properly. There are four sets of DIP switches that are accessible by removing a side cover plate. These DIP switches allow the operator to select the desired range settings, address borders, and software averaging. Up to two different range settings can be selected on the module at the same time (one on group 1 and one on group 2). The analog input module occupies up to sixteen registers of the system. The sixteen registers need to be assigned to the slot that the module is placed. The rack that the module is being placed in must be powered down before the module is inserted or removed.
