About the 8030-RIM-144
The 8030-RIM-144 is a Multiplexed BCD and Single Channel Fast Response BCD Input Module created by Symax. The module has a maximum of sixteen register addresses. The types of BCD thumbwheels allowed are 4-digit maximum (0-9999) diode isolated Nines Complement of the BCD. The field wiring connector capacity is 8, 24 AWG wires per terminal. The maximum cable distance between the module and thumbwheel switches is 200 ft/60m. The maximum module drives the current per thumbwheel contact point is 5 mA. The operating voltage range is 0-12 VDC. The module has short circuit protection between the data and enables lines and the ground. A user power supply is required for the BCD device (resolver to the digital decoder). However, no external power supply is required for module operation. The enable line handshake frequency is 1818 Hz. The module reads the data at twice this frequency. The data line input for logic 1 is Sink 1uA max at 3.5 VDC min. The data line input for logic 0 is source 2.5 mA max. at 1.5 VDC. The enable output logic 1 level source is 250 uA max. at 4.0 VDC min. The logic 0 sink is 300 mA max. at 1.5 VDC max. The rated current draw on the Sy/Max power supply is 625 mA max. The ambient temperature rating is 0-60 degrees Celsius. The humidity rating for this module is 5-95 percent as long as it is non-condensing. There is a LED light on this module. If the light is red it is an error light that shows that there is a malfunction.
