About the 8030-ROM-141
The 8030-ROM-141 is created by Sy/Max as a Multiplexed BCD Output Module. There is a maximum of sixteen registered address used for this module. There is a maximum number of displays per module is sixteen 4 digit sets or a total of sixty-four displays. The type of BCD devices allowed is 4 digit max (0-9999) with onboard data latch and BCD decoding capability. The field wiring connector capacity is eight. 24 AWG wires per terminal. The maximum cable distance between the module and the BCD device is 200ft/60m. The operating voltage range is TTL level DATA and ENABLE lines. The data line logic is considered True High (sourcing). The enable line logic is considered True Low (sinking) data will be transferred (latched) when the enable line (E1-E16) is low TTL level. A one (HIGH TTL) allows data to change. There are two logic levels. Logic 1: Source 5.2 mA at 2.4 VDC min. Logic 0: Sink 48mA at 0.5 VDC max. There is short circuit protection between the Data and Enable lines and the ground. The module does have user power requirements for the LED displays. The user power supply current requirements are dependent on the type and number of LED displays. However, NO external power supply is needed for the BCD output module. The BCD Latch/Enable frequency is switch selectable (S1) 1Hz or 10 Hz. The rated current draw on Sy/Max power supply is 900mA maximum. The module has LEDs that will illuminate Red when the BCD Output module malfunction occurs.
